Another installment, something for your ipod and cars. We rarely put old school tunes in our mixes, because we always have so many good tracks to choose from but we both decided to include Wonder, Dizzee and Wiley tracks that we have been playing in our live sets recently. There are a couple of new names you may not have come across before in Mr Mitch & Moony, they are both sick, keep an ear out for them.

We started this blog two years ago when information on Grime online was sparse. It still is to some extent, but this was before Grime Forum was born, before Grimedaily and all of the smaller blogs that have popped up over the last year or so.

We have interviewed quite a lot of interesting people in the scene since then, and had some incredible experiences down to us starting this blog. It is also a year since Skilliam and I have been doing shows on Rinse FM, the transition from being just an opinion to actually finding the new music and sharing it with you guys has been heavy.

Writing this in a hotel room in Holland ready to do our second show here this year would of been unthinkable when we started this! So watch out for what we do next it this is only the beginning. But to reminisce for a bit....

This is the first compilation Grimetapes have made showcasing a crew. When Grime came off a lot of pirate stations they simultaneously killed the crew. Grime hasn't quite recovered from this yet, the only real active crew lately has been the OG's.

This compilation focuses mainly on Chronik, G Man, Tempa T, Rage and Esco. Here is the classic feature on them from Risky Roadz. With this, I just simply have to let the music do the talking.

My favourite MC of all time. In all music.

This is the definitive collection of D Double E's best radio moments from the last 6 years. I have literally grown up on DEE. There has never been an official Dee solo project all this time which is sad, but this should hold us out until the Newham Generals album which should be landing in 2009 sometime, it is long overdue!

The compilation takes us through Grime, Garage and Jungle, and is a showcase of his versatility that not many MC's can compete with. My favourite moment is "Some Next Waifer Beat". Whoevers dubplate that was im sure it is fucked now, because of the dirty reload.

If your favourite MC is not D Double E by the end of this compilation, you are a very hard person to impress.

This was the week that Wiley's new album 'See Clear Now' was supposed to come out, and Grimetapes thought to counter his major label effort, he would put together a Wiley collection available to download on the same day. The label flopped, and now it is out in 2009, but we thought it would still be appropriate to drop it today. Hopefully there will be a Volume Two for the actual release date.

Now onto the mixtape:

Imagine all Wiley's best radio and live moments in mixtape format free to download. Simple concept, continuing on from the Wheel Volume One theme.

Selection comes from Slimzee, Karnage, Maximum, Tubby and Darkside. Classic stuff. Includes a clash with Doogz and some vintage back to back moments with Dizzee.

As promised, a present this time courtesy of Grimetapes.com. I asked Slackk to give me some words with this, I was going to do it over the phone, but he is a scouser so I asked for it via email.

"It's an odd one, this. I only started, in truth, after a journalist for a magazine I won't name asked me a few questions regarding the site and the idea of putting together the "biggest clashes/moments" from the site for their own site. After I while I got back to them and they wanted something bigger- "don't you have Wiley Vs Dizzee?"
The ignorance was a lot and after a bit of back and forth, the idea for the article- and the attached "biggest moments" disappeared.

The idea pretty much laid dormant until about three weeks ago when someone brought up the idea of the biggest wheels etc on the site. As much as it was a good idea, I didn't like the concept of focussing on the stuff everybody had already heard. In addition, constant wheels sound odd in the car- I've tried it before. So, instead, here's a load of snippets that kind of flow into one thing. I've tried to stay away from the biggest "moments" and all that because most people have heard them before anyway. As good as, for example, Wiley Vs Doogz is, I don't really think it needs to be here. Maybe on a clashes compilation. The bigger names aren't all here either. There's the odd exception, but I just wanted to make something that wasn't bait and flowed like an album, to an extent.

So, it's not perfect, but it's done and here it is.

Wiley Volume One is next, you can guess what that is already I presume.

Make sure you give feedback for this one because nobody has done anything like this before.

We had the Beth Ditto picture on Volume One This time we are going to use Fat Sue as our Butterz Volume Two picture. This is just straight UK music in the mix for your ipod/phone/car/laptop.

This is a perfect example of how Grime/Dubstep/Bassline/Funky can work together.
If you click on most of the labels it links to a place to buy the music from. It would of been pretty cool to use loads of exclusives, but would defeat the object of spreading the music that is currently out there making noise. Enjoy
